It means "Sanctification of G-d's Holy Name"...

It is a great mitzvah...

You can perform it by dying (Heaven forbid!)...

But it's much better to do it while staying alive...

A public demonstration of your love for G-d, your belief and faith in Him, his laws, His people, His Torah and His Land...

By being proud to be one of the Chosen People...

A Jew...

We sanctify the Holy Name of G-d...

"Kiddush HaShem"...

Any public act of belief and faith...

His public dispays of respect for the Jewish Sabbath surely qualify as "Kiddush HaShem" of the first degree...

Even if his team was only second best in Europe...

He brought great honor to Israel, the Jewish People and our G-d...

They are becoming a part of the first government in Israel's history to publicly declare their intention to abandon parts of the land of Israel and forcibly expel 10's of thousands of Jews from their homes in the Holy Land...

It would be a great Kiddush HaShem to prevent such a desecration of G-ds Holy Name...

Without Shas in the Rabin government, the Oslo disaster would probably not have happened...
